Pear.us Venue
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how One Market Inc., doing business as Pear.us (“Pear.us,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), collects, uses, shares, and retains information when you use the Pear.us Venue iOS application (the “App”).
1. Scope and Audience
The App is designed for event organizers and their authorized staff (such as door staff) to operate event entry and at-the-door sales on behalf of an event organizer.
Individuals using the App typically act as operators for an event and do not use the App in a personal or consumer capacity. Guest and customer information displayed in the App is provided by the event organizer for legitimate event operations purposes, such as ticket verification, check-in, and sales.
2. Information We Collect
Depending on how the App is used, we may collect or process the following categories of information.
A. Staff and Event Access Information
- Staff IDs and event access codes used to access a specific event. Staff IDs are used solely to identify authorized event staff and are not consumer accounts.
- Event details associated with the Staff ID and the access code (e.g., event name, time, configuration)
B. Ticket Verification and Check-In Information
When scanning or searching within the App, we may process:
- Ticket identifiers (such as QR code content or ticket references)
- Guest or customer names as provided by the event organizer’s guest list
- Check-in status and timestamps (for example, whether a ticket has been checked in)
C. At-the-Door Sales and Order Information
If tickets or items are sold through the App, we may collect:
- Items purchased (such as ticket type and quantity)
- Order totals and timestamps
- Order status (e.g., completed, voided, refunded if applicable)
- Transaction references required for recordkeeping and customer support
D. Payment Information (Processed by Stripe)
Payments made through the App are processed by Stripe, including Apple Pay and tap-to-pay transactions where supported.
Pear.us does not store full payment card numbers, CVV codes, or sensitive payment credentials in the App.
We may receive limited payment-related information from Stripe, such as:
- Payment status (successful or failed)
- Transaction identifiers
- Payment method type (e.g., card, Apple Pay) and limited metadata provided by Stripe
E. Device and Diagnostics Information
We may collect:
- Device type and operating system version
- App crash logs and performance diagnostics
- Security-related logs (such as error events) used for fraud prevention and system integrity
Diagnostic and security data is used solely for operational, reliability, and security purposes and is not used for advertising or cross-app tracking.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide and operate the App’s ticket scanning, check-in, and at-the-door sales features
- Verify ticket validity and manage event entry
- Support guest list lookup and event operations
- Process orders and provide records to event organizers
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the App
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms
4. How We Share Information
We may share information in the following circumstances.
A. With Event Organizers
Relevant check-in and order records are shared with the event organizer associated with the event so they can manage entry and track sales through their Pear.us account.
B. With Stripe (Payment Processor)
Information necessary to process payments and prevent fraud is shared with Stripe.
C. With Service Providers
We may share information with trusted third-party service providers that help us operate the App (such as hosting, analytics, security, and customer support).
These providers are authorized to use information only as necessary to perform services on our behalf.
D. For Legal and Compliance Reasons
We may disclose information if required to do so by law or if we believe disclosure is necessary to:
- Comply with a legal obligation
- Protect the rights, safety, and security of Pear.us, event organizers, users, or the public
- Prevent fraud or address security issues
We do not sell personal information.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
A. On-Device Data in the App
During an ongoing event, the App may display purchase history and check-in information for verification and customer support purposes.
When an event ends, purchase history and check-in data stored within the App are deleted.
B. Pear.us Platform Records
Transaction and order records generated through the App are stored in the event organizer’s Pear.us account and retained only as necessary for legitimate business purposes, such as accounting, dispute resolution, fraud prevention, and legal or regulatory compliance.
Pear.us does not retain transaction data longer than required for these purposes.
6. iOS Permissions
The App may request the following permissions:
- Camera access: required to scan QR codes for ticket verification
- Network access: required to retrieve event data, validate tickets, and sync orders and check-in status
If camera access is not granted, QR code scanning may not function, but other features (such as guest name search) may still be available.
7. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect information. However, no security system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you or the relevant event organizer may have rights to access, correct, delete, or request information about personal data processed through the App.
Requests may be submitted by contacting us at the email address below. We may need to verify the request and, where applicable, coordinate with the relevant event organizer to fulfill it.
